Description

The Anchor Is Not Just Ballast. It Is the Only Thing Between Your Vessel and the Rocks. Every sailor knows the mathematics of the drift: wind speed multiplied by fetch equals wave height, and a dragging anchor turns a peaceful anchorage into a life-threatening emergency in under ninety seconds. The Seabed Anchor eliminates the human variable from the anchoring equation with a 12V electric winch that deploys and retrieves at the touch of a wireless remote — no hauling, no back strain, no fumbling with windlass clutches in a rising sea.

The motor is a sealed, marine-grade permanent-magnet DC unit delivering 1,100 pounds of pulling force through a hardened steel gear train with a 150:1 reduction ratio. That means the winch draws modest current while generating enough torque to free an anchor buried in thick mud or wedged in rocky substrate — the kind of retrieval that would exhaust two crew members on a manual windlass. The wireless remote has a 30-meter range with rolling-code security, so accidental activation from nearby boats is impossible. A wired backup switch is mounted on the winch body for redundancy.

Corrosion is the silent predator of marine hardware. The Seabed Anchor fights it at the metallurgical level: 316-grade stainless steel fasteners, marine-anodized aluminum housing, and sealed bearings that keep salt spray out of the gear train. The integrated circuit breaker protects the motor from stall current, and the free-spool clutch allows manual deployment when you want to drop anchor fast without power. This is not a freshwater fishing accessory adapted for saltwater. It is a purpose-built marine tool that earns its place on every center-console, cabin cruiser, and pontoon boat that values dignity over drudgery.

Anchoring is not a workout. It is a navigation procedure. Automate it.

Application Scenarios

The Seabed Anchor is designed for center-console fishing boats, cabin cruisers, pontoon boats, and any vessel under 30 feet that anchors frequently. It eliminates the physical toll of manual anchor retrieval — especially valuable for solo operators, older boaters, and anyone who has experienced the frustration of pulling a fouled anchor in rough conditions. The wireless remote lets the operator manage the anchor from the helm while monitoring depth sounder and GPS position simultaneously.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What size boat is this winch suitable for?

A: The Seabed Anchor is rated for vessels up to 30 feet with anchor weights up to 40 lbs. The 1,100 lbs of pulling force handles anchors buried in mud, sand, or light rock. For vessels over 30 feet or anchors over 50 lbs, consider a higher-capacity windlass system.

Q: How is the winch powered on the boat?

A: The winch connects directly to the boat's 12V battery system via the included heavy-gauge wiring harness with inline circuit breaker. Recommended: dedicated circuit with 50A minimum rating. The winch draws approximately 15–25A under normal load and up to 40A at stall.

Q: Can the wireless remote interfere with other boat electronics?

A: No. The remote operates on 433MHz with rolling-code encryption — a different frequency band than VHF marine radio (156–174MHz), GPS (1.5GHz), or typical Bluetooth/WiFi (2.4GHz). Each remote is factory-paired to its winch and cannot activate other units.

Q: What happens if the remote battery dies mid-trip?

A: The wired backup switch mounted on the winch body provides manual up/down control. The remote uses a standard CR2032 coin cell — keep a spare in the glovebox. The free-spool clutch also allows completely manual deployment by releasing the drum brake.

Q: Is this winch truly corrosion-proof for saltwater use?

A: The Seabed Anchor uses 316 stainless steel (not 304 — 316 contains molybdenum for superior chloride resistance), marine-anodized aluminum housing, and fully sealed bearings. After each saltwater trip, rinse the winch with fresh water and lubricate the clutch mechanism. The motor is IP66 sealed against water spray — it is not submersible.

Solid winch, remote range could be better

The winch itself is mechanically excellent — smooth retrieval, strong pull, and the clutch mechanism is intuitive. The wireless remote works reliably within about 20 meters, but at the advertised 30 meters it gets spotty on my particular boat (lots of aluminum). Still way better than hand-hauling an anchor. Installation took about 2 hours with basic tools.

Corrosion resistance is legit

Six months in saltwater use off the Florida coast and the winch still looks and operates like new. I rinse it with fresh water after each trip as recommended, but I've been impressed by the 316 stainless fasteners — no rust spots at all. The wired backup switch saved me once when the remote battery died mid-trip. Would buy again without hesitation.

My back thanks me every trip now

Installed on a 22-foot center console fishing boat. The wireless remote lets me manage the anchor from the helm while watching the fish finder — huge quality of life upgrade. We anchor in 40-60 feet of water with a 22lb Danforth and this winch pulls it up effortlessly, even when the anchor is buried in mud. The free-spool clutch drops anchor instantly when we mark fish.
