Hot wax fails for one reason above all others: temperature. Too cool and it grips the hair instead of the strip, too hot and it takes skin with it. A machine with a thermostat and a lid is not a luxury, it is the difference between a treatment that works and a week of discomfort.

This unit holds 500ml in a stainless steel pot inside an ABS shell. The 500ml capacity is the practical size for legs and arms, roughly one session with a little margin. The lid matters more than it looks: it keeps the melt at temperature between passes and keeps dust out of a product that will be applied to skin.

It runs on 100 to 240 volts, so the same unit works from a European socket and a North American one, with EU and US plug options at checkout. It carries 3C and CE certification. The kit versions add scented wax beans in honey, aloe, chamomile, lavender, strawberry, rose or cream, which saves a separate purchase for a first attempt.

Wax is a temperature problem dressed as a beauty problem. Solve the temperature and the rest follows.

The Use Case

It is built for home waxing where a salon visit per session is not realistic: legs, underarms, arms and bikini line, on a schedule the user controls. Estheticians starting out use a 500ml pot for single client sessions because it heats faster than a large professional can. It also handles paraffin hand and foot treatments, which is a different wax and a different temperature band, and it suits anyone who has tried wax beads in a microwave and ruined a bowl.

Before You Buy

Q: What temperature should the wax be?

A: Hard wax is usually worked between 40 and 45 degrees Celsius, warm to the touch but not stinging. Paraffin for hands and feet runs hotter, around 50 to 52. Test on the inside of your wrist before applying anywhere else, every single session, because thermostat behaviour drifts with ambient temperature.

Q: Can I melt wax beans in this directly?

A: Yes, that is the primary use. Put the beans in the pot, set the unit going, and let them melt without stirring aggressively. Stirring introduces air bubbles that make the wax brittle and harder to pull cleanly.

Q: How long does 500ml last?

A: Roughly two to three full leg sessions if you work with a reasonable application thickness. Wax picks up hair and cannot be reused indefinitely, so plan on a partial refill each session rather than topping up a permanent pool.

Q: How do I clean the pot afterwards?

A: Warm the residue until it is fluid, wipe it out with a paper towel, then clean the film with a little oil or a dedicated wax remover. Never put water in a hot wax pot to loosen residue, and never immerse the base or element.

Q: Does it work in the United States?

A: Yes. The unit accepts 100 to 240 volts and ships with a US plug option, so no converter is needed. Confirm the plug selection at checkout, because the two variants are separate SKUs.

Q: Is 500ml enough for a full leg?

A: For most people, yes, with a small margin. Very tall users or a full leg plus bikini in one sitting may want to melt a second batch, which takes a few minutes. Running short mid treatment is the one scenario worth planning around.

Q: How long does it take to melt from cold?

A: Expect fifteen to twenty five minutes for a full 500ml load of hard wax beans, less if you start with a partly used pot. Melting faster by turning it to maximum is a false economy: it scorches the wax and leaves hard granules that will not smooth out.

Q: Are the scented beans suitable for sensitive skin?

A: Fragranced wax is a common irritant for reactive skin. Patch test on a small area twenty four hours ahead. If you already know you react to fragrance, buy the unit without beans and use a plain hard wax, which is what most estheticians keep on the trolley for faces.

Q: Bikini and underarm work, is 500ml too big?

A: For small areas the pot is larger than you need, but a low melt still works: melt a shallow layer rather than filling it. A wider pot is actually easier for a spatula than a narrow one, because you can angle the blade without hitting the wall.

Works on 110 volts as promised for my US kitchen

Ordered the US plug version and it heated correctly with no converter. The pot is bigger than I need for underarms, but melting a shallow layer solves that. Fifteen minutes from cold for a partial load.

Cheaper than one salon appointment and it works

The stainless pot wipes clean after a session and the ABS shell stays cool enough to move while it is on. I bought the unit with lavender beans and the scent is mild rather than perfumed. Two and a half sessions out of 500ml for full legs.

The lid is what makes this usable at home

The wax stays at temperature between passes, so I am not reheating and waiting in the middle of a leg. Melted 500ml of honey beans in about twenty minutes from cold. Test on the wrist every time, because the thermostat is not a thermometer.
