Description

One socket. Ten sizes. Zero excuses.

The Hex Surgeon replaces an entire rail of individual sockets with a single 3/8-inch drive tool that adjusts continuously from 10mm to 19mm. The self-centering jaw mechanism grips hex fasteners on three contact faces — not two, as budget adjustable sockets do — distributing torque evenly across the bolt head rather than concentrating it on the corners.

Forged from chrome-vanadium steel (CR-V) and phosphate-coated against corrosion, this is the socket you throw in the glovebox, the motorcycle saddlebag, or the emergency kit under the workbench. When the bolt is rounded, seized, or just awkward to reach, the Hex Surgeon bites where fixed sockets slip.

Workshop-grade precision in a single-socket footprint.

Application Scenarios

Roadside emergency repairs where your full socket set is 50 miles away. Motorcycle maintenance where saddlebag space is measured in cubic inches. Bicycle assembly where metric sizes shift across components. HVAC and appliance repair where you encounter bolt sizes you did not expect. Machine maintenance in cramped enclosures. The Hex Surgeon is for anyone who has ever reached for the wrong socket, walked back to the toolbox, and muttered something unprintable under their breath — which is to say, everyone who turns wrenches.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will this grip a rounded bolt?

A: Yes — within reason. The 3-jaw self-centering design grips more surface area than a standard 12-point socket, and can often bite on fasteners that a fixed socket would slip on. Severely rounded bolts may still need an extractor.

Q: Can I use this with an impact wrench?

A: No. The Hex Surgeon is designed for hand ratchets, breaker bars, and torque wrenches. Impact drivers apply hammering force that can damage the adjustable jaw mechanism.

Q: Does it work on square nuts or specialty fasteners?

A: The jaw profile is optimized for hex fasteners (6-point and 12-point). It may grip square nuts within the same size range but with reduced torque transfer.

Q: Is this a replacement for a full socket set?

A: It is an emergency or space-saving complement, not a complete replacement. For high-torque, repetitive professional work, a full socket rail is still the right tool.

Q: Will the jaw loosen during use?

A: The self-centering mechanism locks under torque — the harder you turn, the tighter it grips. It does not back off during ratcheting.

Q: Will the phosphate coating prevent rust in a humid garage?

A: The phosphate finish provides strong corrosion resistance for indoor and covered storage. For marine or consistently wet environments, apply a light oil film after use — same as you would with any CR-V steel tool.

Q: Does it fit both metric and SAE fasteners equally well?

A: The jaw profile is optimized for metric hex (10-19mm), which covers the majority of automotive and machinery applications. It will grip SAE fasteners within the same physical range but with slightly less surface contact on fractional-inch sizes.

Q: What shipping options are available and how long does delivery take?

A: We ship from multiple verified international warehouses with standard delivery times of 7-15 business days to most regions. Express shipping options are available at checkout for eligible destinations. Every order includes end-to-end tracking from dispatch to delivery.

Q: What is your return and warranty policy for this product?

A: We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee on all EastSupplier products. If the item arrives damaged, defective, or does not match the listing description, contact us for a free return and full refund or replacement — your choice. We handle claims within 24 hours on business days.

The EastSupplier Promise

Every hand tool we list is hardness-tested, torque-rated, and corrosion-evaluated before it earns a listing. The Hex Surgeon was subjected to 500 consecutive ratchet cycles at 40 N·m with zero jaw slippage and zero measurable wear on the phosphate coating. We ship from verified warehouses, track every order, and offer a warranty that covers manufacturing defects without a 20-page claims process. If this socket does not perform as described on the first bolt you turn, return it. Full refund. No questions.

Handy tool, know its limits

Works great as a portable alternative to a full socket set. I use it for bicycle maintenance and small engine repairs. The 10-19mm range covers most everything I encounter. Just do not expect it to handle high-torque lug nuts — that is not what this is designed for. The phosphate coating resists rust well in my garage. Good buy at this price.

Motorcycle mechanic approved

I work on Japanese motorcycles where bolts are always in tight spots. This socket got to a recessed engine mount bolt that my socket rail could not reach. The 3-jaw grip bites better than I expected — no rounding on a semi-seized 12mm. Not a replacement for a full set, but it has already saved me twice on roadside jobs. Worth the space in the saddlebag.

Best emergency socket I have ever owned

Kept this in my truck tool bag for 4 months before I finally needed it — battery terminal bolt on a friend's car at a rest stop. One socket, three sizes tested, perfect fit. The self-centering jaw actually works. Chrome-vanadium steel feels solid in the hand, not like those gimmicky universal sockets that strip bolts. This one earns its keep.
