Description

Cleaning is a function of frequency. A brush reaches the surface; it cannot reach a watch bracelet pin, a denture clasp, or the twenty-micron gap under a circuit board component. An ultrasonic bath at 40kHz does not scrub at all. It drives cavitation: microscopic bubbles form in the liquid and collapse against the surface, lifting oil, polish residue and grime away without abrasion, without solvent, and without a single bristle touching the part.

The Quiet Bath is a 628ml stainless tank with a single button and a five-minute working cycle. That short cycle is deliberate. Cavitation is energetic, and parts that sit in it for half an hour lose more than they gain, especially soft stones and plated finishes. Five minutes at 30W to 50W is enough for a ring, a pair of glasses, a shaver head, dentures, a camera filter ring, or a board that failed a flux inspection, and the timer removes the temptation to overdo it.

The physical design solves the two annoyances of inexpensive baths. A stainless lid keeps the liquid from splashing out and slows evaporation between cycles, and four non-slip feet hold the chassis clear of the bench so water cannot wick into the housing. A vent hole in the base lets the driver board shed heat, which is the actual failure point on units that die within a year. The tank measures 168 by 42 by 89mm inside a 190 by 145 by 93mm body, so it occupies less bench space than a coffee mug footprint and a little more height.

It is not a jewelry-polishing machine and it does not remove scratches. It removes what should never have been left on the surface in the first place.

Loading matters as much as frequency. Parts should sit in a basket or hang free with no two items touching, since contact points block cavitation and leave a visible line of untouched grime. Fill to the marked level, add a drop of surfactant, and run the bath for two minutes before introducing parts; this drives dissolved air out of the water, and degassed liquid cavitates far more aggressively than freshly poured tap water. Fragile items go in a beaker of solution standing in the bath, which isolates them from direct transducer energy while still cleaning by proxy.

Key Features

  • ✦ 40kHz cavitation cleaning without brushes, abrasion or harsh solvents
  • ✦ 628ml stainless steel tank sized for jewelry, eyewear, dentures and small parts
  • ✦ Single-button operation with a fixed five-minute working cycle
  • ✦ 30W to 50W transducer output across the model range
  • ✦ Stainless lid contains splash and slows evaporation between cycles
  • ✦ Four non-slip feet lift the chassis clear of standing water
  • ✦ Base vent keeps the driver board cool for longer service life

Application Scenarios

Optical counters use it to lift skin oil off frame nose pads and temple tips before an adjustment. Jewelry retailers run a five-minute cycle before a customer tries on a ring, which turns a hygiene step into a presentation moment. Repair benches clean flux from small boards and connector housings where a brush would spread contamination. Dental and tattoo studios clean removable appliances and small stainless instruments as a pre-step before proper sterilization. Watch collectors use it on bracelets and cases, never on the movement itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I clean a whole mechanical watch in it?

A: No. Submerge the bracelet and case only, with the movement removed or the watch kept above the liquid line. Cavitation can displace lubricants inside an assembled movement.

Q: What liquid should I use?

A: Warm tap water with a drop of dish soap covers most jobs. Use distilled water for optical parts and a dedicated ultrasonic solution for circuit boards where residue must not conduct.

Q: Will it damage soft or plated stones?

A: It can. Opals, pearls, emeralds with fractures and thin plating should not go in. When in doubt, run a thirty-second test on an inconspicuous area first.

Q: Why does the unit stop after five minutes?

A: The fixed cycle protects the transducer and the parts. Repeat the cycle for heavy buildup rather than running continuously, and let the unit rest between long sessions.

Q: How often should I change the water?

A: Every session for biological items, and every two or three sessions for metal and glass. Empty, dry and wipe the tank after use to prevent mineral rings and rust at the seams.

Q: Why do my parts look dull after cleaning?

A: Overexposure. Plated finishes and soft alloys pit when cavitation runs too long. Reduce to one cycle, use a beaker to soften the energy, and avoid any acidic additive.

Q: Can I clean more than one item at once?

A: Yes, provided nothing touches. Cavitation needs liquid contact on every surface. Stacked rings or nested glasses will show contact shadows where the surfaces met.

Bought a second for the workshop

Use the first one for circuit boards after soldering and it lifts flux out of the pin gaps a brush cannot reach. Five minute cycle is exactly right and the base vent keeps it cool during back to back runs.

Does exactly what it says, nothing more

Cleans glasses and jewelry well but do not expect it to remove scratches, because it will not. The lid and rubber feet are the reason I picked this over cheaper ones and they were worth it.

My rings look new again

Five minutes and the buildup inside the band that I could never reach with a brush is gone. I run it twice a week now and the water turns grey every time which tells me it is doing something real.
