Description
A Camera Is Only Useful If the Image Holds Up. Most inexpensive security cameras return a recognisable blob at twenty metres and call it surveillance. The Nightwatch Pro returns an 8MP frame with enough resolution to read a plate and identify a face, which is the difference between footage you keep and footage you can use.
AI detection instead of motion noise. Conventional cameras trigger on every passing car, cat and shifting shadow, which is how an alert feed becomes something people stop reading. The on-board AI classifies human and vehicle movement separately, so the notifications that reach your phone correspond to events you actually care about.
One cable, no power run. Power over Ethernet carries data and power down the same RJ45 line, so installation is a single cable to the recorder rather than a second electrical circuit in the eaves. A DC 12V input covers the positions where PoE is not practical, and the bullet housing is built for weather rather than for a shelf.
Built to keep recording. H.265 compression roughly halves the bitrate of an older H.264 stream, which means the same drive holds twice the archive, and the 3.6 mm lens covers a wide approach instead of a narrow corridor. A 0.1 lux minimum illumination rating keeps colour performance usable well past the point where cheaper cameras drop to grey.
A feed nobody checks is not security. It is decoration.

Where the Nightwatch Pro Goes
It is installed where a single cable run decides whether the job is possible at all: eaves, gateposts, loading bays and warehouse walls where PoE reaches and a separate mains circuit does not. Retailers use the AI classification to separate customer traffic from after-hours movement. Homeowners use the two-way audio to answer a delivery driver without walking to the door. Site managers use the H.265 bitrate saving to keep a longer archive on the drive they already own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What resolution does it record?
A: Two sensor options are available in this listing: 8MP 4K and 4MP. Both stream over H.265 or H.264, and the variant name states which sensor you are selecting.
Q: Does it need a separate power supply?
A: No. PoE 48V carries power and data down one RJ45 cable. Where PoE is not available, the DC 12V input takes a conventional supply.
Q: What does AI motion detection actually do?
A: The camera classifies movement rather than triggering on any pixel change. Human and vehicle events are tagged separately, which cuts the number of useless alerts dramatically.
Q: Does it record at night?
A: Yes. Infrared coverage reaches 25 metres, and the 0.1 lux rating means colour is retained in low light before the IR illuminators engage.
Q: How much footage can I store?
A: That depends on drive size and resolution. H.265 roughly halves the bitrate compared with H.264, so the same drive holds about twice the archive.
Q: Can I talk through the camera?
A: Yes. Two-way audio is supported, so you can listen and speak through the unit.
Q: What software does it work with?
A: Standard IP NVR platforms plus Windows 7, 8 and 10 clients. Tell us your recorder model before ordering and we will confirm ONVIF compatibility.
Q: Is it suitable for outdoor mounting?
A: The bullet housing is built for exterior installation. For fully exposed coastal positions we recommend sheltered mounting to extend the life of the housing.
Q: How many cameras can one recorder support?
A: That depends on the NVR channel count and its total bitrate budget. H.265 streams leave headroom, so most eight-channel recorders will run eight of these units without strain.
Q: Can I view it from my phone?
A: Yes. The camera streams to your NVR or client and the recorder app handles remote viewing. Tell us your recorder model and we will confirm the mobile app before you order.
