Description
Daylight Is Not a Switch. It Is a Gradient. A room changes character seven times between sunrise and dusk, and almost nobody is present for any of those changes. The Quiet Draft exists to make the room do the work: a Tuya-driven curtain motor that converts light into a scheduled, deliberate argument about how a space should feel at 7am versus 4pm. Pull the curtain by hand and you get one position. Automate it and you get a climate policy for the glass in your wall.
The hardware is built around Zemismart's Tuya platform, which means control lives in three places at once: a physical RF remote that works with no network at all, the Smart Life application on your phone where schedules and scenes are authored, and voice through Alexa Echo when your hands are full. The motor drives a customised aluminium track supplied in seven lengths from 2.2 metres to 8.2 metres, so a small study window and an eight-metre living room run are handled by the same mechanism rather than by two different product families. Everything is CE certified, and the 84 available configurations cover four plug standards, three fulfilment origins and every track length in the range.
This is the part most automation products get wrong: the decision architecture. A curtain that opens on a timer and closes on a timer is a timer, not a system. The Quiet Draft is meant to be programmed by intent, sunrise offset for the bedroom so you wake with the light rather than against it, a West-facing glare scene for the afternoon, and a full close at dusk that is quietly indifferent to whether anyone is home. Set it once in the application, then forget the application exists.
Light should not require a hand. It should require a decision.
Key Features
- ✦ Three redundant control paths. RF remote, Tuya Smart Life application and Alexa Echo voice sit in parallel, so a dropped WiFi connection never strands the curtain.
- ✦ Seven track lengths, one motor family. Tracks run from 2.2 m (86 in) to 8.2 m (322.5 in), covering single windows and long architectural glazing runs without changing hardware.
- ✦ Customised track included. The selected length ships as a matched set with the motor, not as a separate sourcing problem for your installer.
- ✦ Four plug standards. US, UK, AU and EU plugs are offered as a configuration option rather than an adapter compromise.
- ✦ CE certified. European conformity documentation for residential and hospitality installations.
- ✦ Regional fulfilment. Stock ships from Belgium, China or the Russian Federation, so European projects can avoid a transcontinental lead time.
- ✦ Scene-native. Position, timing and group behaviour are authored in the app, then executed locally by the motor.

Where It Belongs
This is a specification for people who own the building rather than rent the room. Hospitality operators use it on long bedroom glazing runs where a housekeeping team should not be manually resetting curtains between guests. Architects specify it where the motor has to disappear into a ceiling pocket and the only visible evidence of automation is that the light behaves correctly. Home offices take it because a West-facing screen and a 3pm glare are a scheduling problem, not a willpower problem. In every case the value is the same: the curtain stops being a daily physical task and becomes a line item in a scene that runs whether or not anyone remembers to run it.
Questions, Answered
Q: Do I need a separate Tuya hub for this motor?
A: No hub is required for the WiFi functions. The motor connects directly to your 2.4 GHz network and is commissioned in the Tuya Smart Life application. The RF remote works independently of both the network and the application.
Q: Which track length do I order?
A: Measure the full span you want covered, including any return to the wall at each end, then choose the nearest stocked length at or above that span. Available stops are 2.2, 3.2, 4.2, 5.2, 6.2, 7.2 and 8.2 metres.
Q: My router broadcasts 5 GHz. Will pairing fail?
A: Pairing happens on 2.4 GHz. Keep a 2.4 GHz SSID enabled while you commission the motor; once paired, ordinary control traffic follows your normal network behaviour.
Q: Does the track come with the motor?
A: Yes. The selected track length is supplied as part of the configured set, which is why the pricing varies by length rather than being a single flat figure.
Q: Can I use voice control without the phone app?
A: Voice runs through Alexa Echo and still relies on the Tuya account being linked, so the application is needed once at setup. After that, daily use can be entirely voice or entirely remote.
Q: How fast can a European order arrive?
A: Choose the Belgium fulfilment origin at checkout. Stock held in Belgium avoids the customs and transit time of a shipment from China or the Russian Federation.
