Description

Gravity is the only training partner that never calls in sick. Every body that has ever tried to hold a plank, a handstand, or a long breath knows the negotiation: the floor pushes back, the shoulders tire, and the spine compresses under its own weight. The Gravity Loft was built around a different arrangement. Suspend the body inside 210T ripstop nylon and the same force that shortens a spine in a chair begins to lengthen it instead.

The fabric runs 250 by 145 centimetres, cut wide enough for a full inversion and long enough for a workshop flow. The weave is 210T, a density chosen because it holds a knot without slipping and packs into a bag smaller than a pair of shoes. Six reinforced handles sit along the seams, giving hands and feet a place to land when a transition goes sideways, which is exactly when a studio hammock earns its keep.

Aerial work is not a performance discipline reserved for acrobats. Physical therapists use suspended hammocks for traction and decompression, dance instructors use them to teach weight transfer without impact, and home practitioners use them because twenty minutes of supported inversion does more for a stiff back than an hour of stretching on a mat. The hammock mounts to a ceiling beam or a stand with rated hardware and takes minutes to rig.

Fifteen colourways are stocked, from bone white to deep blue, so the rig can live in a living room without looking like gym equipment. Nothing about the material is decorative though. The stitching is double-row along every load path, and the handle webbing is anchored through the seam fold rather than stitched onto the surface.

The floor will always be there. The question is whether you keep letting it hold all of you.

Why It Works

  • ✦ 250 x 145 cm load area supports full inversion, seated swings and aerial flows
  • ✦ 210T ripstop nylon weave resists tearing and packs down to backpack size
  • ✦ Six integrated handles along the seam line for safe transitions and grip resets
  • ✦ Reinforced double-row stitching along every primary load path
  • ✦ Fifteen colour options for studio, clinic and home interiors
  • ✦ Rated for single-user aerial yoga, traction therapy and aerial dance practice
  • ✦ Washable, low-stretch fabric that holds its shape after repeated loading

Where It Belongs

Studios rig the Gravity Loft as a permanent third wall, because a hammock class sells out faster than a mat class and needs no extra floor space. Physiotherapists hang one beside the treatment table for spinal decompression and shoulder traction, where supported inversion lets a client relax into the position instead of guarding against it. Home practitioners who travel for work mount it in a spare room and treat it as the one piece of equipment that survives a small apartment.

Questions Buyers Ask

Q: What ceiling height does the hammock need?

A: Roughly three metres of clear height lets a full inversion clear the floor. Lower ceilings still work for seated and supported postures with the rig adjusted shorter.

Q: Is the hardware included?

A: The hammock ships with the fabric and integrated handles. Mounting hardware must be rated for suspended load and matched to your beam or stand, so it is specified per installation.

Q: Can two people use it at once?

A: No. The Gravity Loft is rated for one practitioner. Assisted work is done with a spotter standing beside the rig, not on it.

Q: Will it stretch over time?

A: 210T nylon has minimal working stretch compared with cotton blends. A small initial settle of a few centimetres is normal and is taken up by the rigging.

Q: Is it suitable for beginners?

A: Yes. Most people start with seated swings and supported inversions before attempting transitions between the six handles.

Q: How is it cleaned?

A: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, then air dry. Avoid fabric softener, which coats the weave and reduces grip.

My teenager uses it daily

Bought one for my daughter who does aerial dance. Three months of daily use and the seams show no wear at all.

Studio quality at home

I teach aerial yoga and bought this for home practice. The 250 by 145 cut is the same size as the studio rigs. Color is exactly as shown.

Great fabric, needs a proper ceiling anchor

Fabric and stitching are solid. Plan the mounting before you buy, the anchor is the real cost. Once rigged it packs into my gym bag.

Six handles make transitions safe

The handles are the reason I trust this. I can reset my grip mid flow instead of hoping. Fabric has almost no stretch under load.

Back pain gone in two weeks

I hang for ten minutes after work and the lower back tightness I had for a year is basically gone. Stitching feels much heavier than the price suggests.
