Description

Most desktop resin printers quietly ask you to think smaller. They teach you to slice a model into sections, to sand away seams, to accept that ambition must be resized to whatever tray you happen to own. The Vessel Forge was engineered to end that negotiation. With a 14.7 litre build volume measuring 298 by 164 by 300 millimetres, it treats single-piece production as the default rather than the exception. A full bust, a batch of functional housings, an architectural study at presentation scale: all of it arrives in one uninterrupted print, with no assembly and no apology.

Light is the only tool this machine truly owns, and it uses that tool with unusual discipline. The LighTurbo 3.0 optical system pairs a chip-on-board emitter with front-facing reflectors and a Fresnel lens, then drives it through a 13.6 inch monochrome panel rated at 7K resolution. That is 6480 by 3600 pixels of addressable geometry, and because the light arrives near-parallel instead of scattering, the detail recovered at the edges of the build plate matches the detail at its centre. Small features stay sharp where they are hardest to keep sharp, which is precisely why the specification matters more than the marketing around it.

Speed and precision are usually traded against one another. Here they are held together by a mechanics-first approach: a double linear rail Z axis rated to 10 micron accuracy, a laser-engraved aluminium alloy build platform, and Intelligent Release 2.0 film control that reduces the peeling stress on every layer. The result is four seconds per layer and up to 63 millimetres per hour at a 0.1 millimetre layer height, without the surface scarring that impatient machines leave behind. An integrated chamber keeps resin between 20 and 40 degrees Celsius, so dimensional accuracy does not drift between a cool morning and a warm afternoon.

This is not a printer. It is a foundry that fits on a workbench.

Application Scenarios

The Vessel Forge belongs wherever a printed part has to be final rather than provisional. Jewellery studios use the oversized plate to run a full production batch overnight instead of chasing single castings. Product designers print complete housings and enclosures that survive a client presentation without visible joins. Model makers, miniatures painters and prop shops produce display-scale figures in one piece. Dental and audiology labs value the repeatable accuracy, while educators finally have a machine large enough to show students what additive manufacturing actually means at industrial scale.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How fast does it actually print?

At a 0.1 millimetre layer height it reaches up to 63 millimetres per hour, and at 0.05 millimetres it sustains roughly 31 millimetres per hour. That translates to approximately four seconds per layer, so a tall build that would take a full day on a compact printer finishes in a single working session.

Q: What is the maximum build volume?

The chamber measures 298 by 164 by 300 millimetres, which works out to 14.7 litres. In practical terms that is a single-piece human bust at display scale, a complete shoe sole, or a rack of functional components printed in one run.

Q: Do I need to level the platform between prints?

No. The build platform uses four point manual levelling, and once it is dialled in it holds that setting because the Z axis rides on dual linear rails rather than a single threaded rod. Check it after a film replacement or a long period of storage.

Q: Does the light source stay uniform across the whole screen?

Yes. The chip-on-board emitter is paired with front-facing reflectors and a Fresnel lens, which collimates the beam so edge detail holds up against centre detail. This is the main reason the 7K panel delivers usable resolution rather than theoretical resolution.

Q: Can it print engineering and functional resins?

It handles the standard resin families including standard, ABS-like, water-washable, flexible and castable formulations. The integrated heater holds the vat between 20 and 40 degrees Celsius, which is what keeps engineering resins dimensionally stable in a cold workshop.

Q: Is Wi-Fi supported, and what about resin odour?

Wi-Fi and USB Type-A 2.0 are both supported for file transfer. The machine ships with a light-curing enclosure and a vat cover; for continuous production in a small room, pair it with a dedicated ventilation setup as you would with any resin system.

Fast, but it is a big machine

Speed is genuine, a tall print that took most of a day on my old setup now finishes in one session. The only reason this is not five stars is that it weighs 24 kg and needs a proper bench, not a folding table. Order some spare films at the same time as the printer.

Edge detail holds up across the whole plate

The thing I was sceptical about was light uniformity, because that is where cheaper machines fall apart. After two months of running full plate batches, the details in the corners are as crisp as the centre. The 7K screen is doing real work here rather than just advertising a number.

Finally printing my busts in one piece

I moved up from a 6 inch printer mainly for the build volume and it has completely changed how I work. A display scale bust that used to come off in four sections now arrives as a single solid piece with no seams to fill. The surface finish straight off the plate is good enough that most pieces only need a quick wash and cure.
