説明

Carp fishing is a sport played mostly between bites. The rod is out, the light is going or coming, and the angler is doing the one thing the equipment cannot: waiting. What matters in that hour is not the cast but whether the alarm is honest. The Quiet Watch is a two or three rod signalling set built so the sound arrives when it should and stays silent when it should not.

The bodies are aluminium, which resists the bank moisture that kills plastic housings over a season, and the set is configured for either two or three rods. The two-rod version carries two swingers, while the three-rod version pairs three alarms with colour-coded swingers so the angler knows which rod moved before looking up. Hangers rest on the line under their own weight with a geometry that keeps the indication readable in wind, and the alarm bodies mount to the buzz bar and bank sticks that the same pod holds. The manufacturer covers the set with a two year warranty and free replacement for defective units.

This is a system rather than an accessory. Rod pod, buzz bar, bank sticks, swingers and alarms are designed to assemble as one rig, which removes the compatibility question that usually costs an angler a session. Setup takes a few minutes, and after that the night belongs to the alarms.

The alarm has one job. It should be boring for eleven hours and unmistakable in the twelfth second.

Where It Belongs

The Quiet Watch suits the angler who fishes two or three rods at once on a lake where the bank is quiet and the indication has to be visible from a bivvy: an overnight session on a commercial carp lake, a weekend on a reservoir, a dawn patrol on a club water, or a session where the rods are set at different distances and the angler needs to know which one has been taken without leaving the shelter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is included in the set?

The set is configured by rod count. The two-rod version includes two alarms with two swingers and the matching pod hardware, while the three-rod version includes three alarms with colour-coded swingers. The pod, buzz bar and bank sticks are matched to the configuration selected.

Q: Which configuration should I choose?

Two rods is the usual choice for a single angler working one swim, while three rods suits a larger swim or an angler who fishes a spread of distances and wants a distinct indication for each rod.

Q: Are the alarms weather resistant?

The bodies are aluminium rather than plastic, which is what allows the set to survive repeated exposure to bank moisture and rain over a season without the housing becoming brittle.

Q: How do the swingers attach to the line?

The hangers rest on the line under their own weight and clip to the alarm body, which keeps the line held in wind without pinching it. The weight is what makes the indication readable rather than the tension.

Q: Is the set suitable for overnight sessions?

Yes. The configuration is designed for multi-rod overnight work where the angler is inside a bivvy and needs both an audible signal and a visible indicator on the bank.

Q: What does the warranty cover?

The manufacturer provides a two year warranty with free replacement for defective units, covering the alarm bodies and the swingers supplied with the set.

Q: Can the alarms be used with an existing rod pod?

Yes, provided the pod uses the standard buzz bar diameter. The alarm bodies mount to the bar and the swingers clip to the bodies independently, so the set does not require the pod supplied with it.

Q: Do the swingers need to be matched to the alarm bodies?

They share the same fitting across the set, so any swinger in the set works on any alarm body in the same set. That is what allows the colour coding to be reassigned between rods when the swim is rearranged.

Q: How should the set be stored between sessions?

Remove the swingers first and pack them separately from the pod hardware. The hangers are the part most easily bent in a crowded session bag, and the alarm bodies and bar pack down to the footprint of a small case.

Solid set, read the config

Do check which configuration you are ordering, because the two-rod and three-rod versions differ in what is included. The hardware itself is well made and packs down small for a session bag.

Colour coding is the useful part

Three rods spread across a swim, and being able to see which one has gone without leaving the bivvy makes a real difference at three in the morning. Setup with the pod took about five minutes.

Two rods, zero false alarms

Ran these on a windy night next to the water and did not get a single false indication, which is more than I can say for the set they replaced. The aluminium bodies feel substantial and the swingers sit on the line properly.
