説明

Speed exposes everything the material was hiding. A filament that prints acceptably at 60 mm per second will show its weaknesses the moment a modern high-flow printer pushes it past 200 — inconsistent extrusion, weak layer adhesion, colour that dulls under heat. The Fast Draft is ESUN PLA+ rebuilt for that regime: the same starch-derived base, but formulated with higher impact strength and better toughness so that printing fast does not mean printing fragile.

Ordinary PLA has a reputation for brittleness that it honestly earned. Snap a thin PLA bracket and it breaks along the layer line like a cracker. PLA Plus changes the polymer blend so the part bends before it fails, which matters for anything with a clip, a thread, a snap fit or a living hinge. Layer adhesion improves as well, and adhesion is the real limiting factor in high-speed printing: the faster the nozzle moves, the less thermal energy it deposits per unit of length, so a material with better bonding behaviour is what makes 200 mm per second practical rather than theoretical.

The spool itself is engineered with the same intent. A total length of 340 to 350 metres, a full kilogram on the reel, tolerance held to plus or minus 0.03 mm, and a wind tight enough that the filament does not cross over itself and jam the extruder at hour nine of a fourteen-hour print. It is specified for Bambu Lab X1 and X1C, Creality K1 and K1 Max, and AnkerMake M5 — the printers that made high-speed printing ordinary — while remaining perfectly happy in a stock bedslinger running at conservative speeds.

A faster printer does not need faster filament. It needs filament that keeps its promises at speed.

Why It Keeps Up

  • ✦ Toughened PLA Plus blend — bends instead of shattering along layer lines.
  • ✦ Tuned for high-speed printers — consistent extrusion at elevated flow rates.
  • ✦ Tolerance held to plus or minus 0.03 mm — the extruder grip never varies.
  • ✦ 340 to 350 metres per spool — a full kilogram, not a short weight.
  • ✦ Tangle-free wind — no crossover snag mid-print.
  • ✦ Plant-derived base — low odour, suited to indoor printing.
  • ✦ Broad machine support — X1, X1C, K1, K1 Max, M5 and standard FDM.

Where It Earns the Spool

This is the material for the parts that get handled. Enclosures with snap-fit lids, brackets that are clipped on and off weekly, phone stands, cable guides, drawer dividers, tool holders, print-in-place hinges — anything where ordinary PLA eventually cracks at the layer line and the owner quietly reprints it in something else. It is equally the material for volume work: batch batches of small parts where a single tangle would waste the whole plate, and where the difference between 340 and 300 metres of usable filament is the difference between finishing the order and ordering another spool. Hobbyists running an X1C or a K1 Max at speed will notice the consistency in the wall finish before they notice anything else, because high-speed printing punishes a variable diameter more visibly than anything else in the process.

Filament Questions

Q: Is PLA Plus the same as PLA?

A: No. PLA Plus is a modified blend with higher impact strength and better toughness, so it resists cracking where standard PLA fails. Print temperatures are close to PLA and no enclosure is needed.

Q: Will it actually print faster than standard PLA?

A: The gains come from better layer adhesion and a consistent diameter, which let you raise flow and speed without under-extrusion. Users typically find the first 30 percent of speed increase is free, and the rest depends on the hotend.

Q: Does it work on a printer without a heated bed?

A: PLA Plus prints on an unheated bed, though a heated bed at 50 to 60 C improves first-layer reliability on large flat parts and reduces the chance of a corner lifting.

Q: How do I store it between prints?

A: PLA is the least moisture-sensitive common material, but a sealed box with desiccant still improves consistency over months. If it has been open a long time and starts to pop, two hours in a dryer at 45 to 50 C restores it.

Q: Is one kilogram enough for a large project?

A: A kilogram is roughly 340 to 350 metres, which covers most desk-scale projects several times over. For large multi-part assemblies, ordering a second spool from the same colour batch avoids a visible shade shift between parts.

Q: Is it suitable for outdoor use?

A: Not for permanent outdoor exposure. PLA softens at relatively low temperatures and degrades under UV. For outdoor parts, PETG or ASA is the correct choice.

Q: Which colours are available?

A: The listing carries the upgraded colour range; select the shade you need at checkout. Solid colours hide layer lines better than translucent ones, which matters on high-speed prints.

Fourteen hour print, no tangle

The wind on the spool is tight and even, which is why I ordered this one. Ran a fourteen hour print and never once worried about a crossover snag. Full kilogram and the length matched what was advertised.

Good colours, prefers a warm bed

Colour is consistent between the two spools I ordered, which matters for a multi-part assembly. Needed a 60C bed for a large flat plate or the corners lifted. Otherwise no complaints at all.

Keeps up with the X1C at speed

Running it on an X1 Carbon at high speed and the walls come out clean with no under-extrusion. Layer adhesion is noticeably better than the cheap PLA I was using before, so thin parts no longer snap.
