説明
A Printer Does Not Need More Power. It Needs a Better Interface.
The last metre of any additive manufacturing workflow is not the nozzle, the bed or the filament. It is the screen bolted to the frame. The BIGTREETECH Pad 7 is a seven-inch IPS display built specifically to run Klipper as a front-end, pairing a one-gigabyte CB1 V2.2 compute module with a thirty-two gigabyte card so the host computer and the interface live in the same aluminium shell instead of trailing a separate Raspberry Pi across the bench.
The display itself is chosen for a workshop, not a phone shop: 1024 by 600 at a 60 Hz refresh rate, 500 candela per square metre of brightness for a brightly lit shop, and a 178-degree viewing angle so the panel reads clearly from where you actually stand. Touch is delivered over USB-HID and video over HDMI, which means the Pad behaves like a normal monitor when you want it to and like a controller when you need it to. Behind it sit three USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, CAN, SPI and an SD slot, powered from a simple DC12V 2A supply at a rated 7.3 watts, in a 185.7 x 124.78 x 39.5 mm body. A Type-C connection makes it possible to write an operating system straight to a CM4 module, so flashing a fresh Klipper host never requires a card reader and a prayer.
Mount it on a Voron, an Ender 3, or any frame built around the CB1 and CM4 ecosystem, and the machine finally presents itself the way a tool should: one screen, one state, no phone in your hand, no laptop on the bench, no second device doing the work your printer should be doing.
A screen displays things. A command deck changes what the machine is capable of becoming.

Where It Belongs
Voron builders and Ender 3 owners are the two largest groups who install this panel, but the design logic is broader. Anyone replacing a laptop tethered to a printer with a dedicated touch interface will find the same benefit: status at a glance, macros one tap away, no machine sharing a desk with a computer that is also doing something else. In a small print farm, the Pad 7 turns each machine into a self-contained station that can be monitored and controlled without walking to a central workstation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does the Pad 7 run Klipper out of the box?
A: It is designed as a Klipper front-end and ships with a CB1 V2.2 module plus a 32 GB card, so the host software is flashed to that card and the Pad runs both the interface and the host in one unit.
Q: Can I use it with a Raspberry Pi or a CM4 board?
A: Yes. Video is delivered over HDMI and touch over USB-HID, so the panel also functions as a standard display for a separate host board. Type-C support allows writing an operating system directly to a CM4.
Q: Which printer frames does it mount to?
A: It is built for the CB1 and CM4 ecosystem and is commonly fitted to Voron and Ender 3 style machines. Note that BIGTREETECH states the BIQU B1 is not yet fully supported by the Pad 7.
Q: How is the Pad powered?
A: A DC 12 V, 2 A supply, drawing a rated 7.3 watts in operation.
Q: Do the touchscreen and the display use the same cable?
A: No. The panel takes HDMI for video and a separate USB-HID connection for touch, which is why it behaves like a monitor when connected to a PC.
