Water arrives at a tap under pressure, every day, for decades. Almost nothing in a bathroom is asked to do more and inspected less. The Cascade is built from solid brass for exactly that reason: not because brass is a marketing word, but because it does not corrode the way plated zinc does, it holds a thread through thousands of thermal cycles, and it can be re-finished rather than replaced when the surface finally shows its age.
The assembly is a wall-mounted tub spout with an integrated hand spray and a hot-and-cold mixer valve, in a matte black finish that reads as graphite rather than gloss. The shower head is a bar profile, height adjustable on its riser, which means the same fixture serves a deep soaking tub and a standing shower without a second wall penetration. The diverter is included, so water switches between spout and spray at the fixture rather than through a separate control.
What separates this from the fixtures sold by the metre online is the material under the finish. Chromed zinc begins to blister at the edges within a few years in a humid room; brass patinates, and a matte coating over brass can be touched up. If the wall behind the fixture is already open, this is the moment to install something that will not need to be opened again.
A bathroom is judged by what it feels like in ten years, not what it looked like on installation day.

In the Bathroom
The Cascade suits a renovation where the wall is open and the plumbing can be set once. In a family bathroom it replaces three separate fittings with one brass assembly, which tidies the tile line and removes two potential leak points. In a guest or rental bathroom the mechanical mixer matters more than any smart feature would, because there is nothing to configure, nothing to pair, and nothing that stops working when the app does. For a hotel-style ensuite, the matte black bar shower reads as considered rather than decorative, and the height adjustment means it works for a six-foot guest and a child in the same week.
Before You Order
Q: Does this require a plumber to install?
Yes. It is an in-wall fixture, which means the supply pipes are set into the wall and the valve body is concealed. A qualified plumber should set the rough-in depth and test the connections before the wall is closed.
Q: What is the difference between this and a cheaper chrome set?
The material under the finish. Brass holds threads, resists corrosion, and can be refinished. Plated zinc begins to blister around edges and joints in humid rooms, usually within a few years, and cannot be repaired.
Q: Is the hand spray hose included?
Yes. The set includes the hand spray with its hose, the spout, the bar shower head, and the mixer diverter, so no separate parts are needed beyond the wall connection.
Q: Will the matte black finish show water spots?
Matte finishes hide water marks better than polished chrome because they scatter light rather than reflecting it. A soft cloth and a mild soap solution every few weeks keeps the surface even.
Q: Can the shower head height be changed after installation?
Yes. The head rides on a riser, so height is adjusted at the fixture rather than fixed at installation. The rough-in position of the valve body is what determines the usable range.
Q: Is it suitable for a low-pressure supply?
It is a standard domestic fixture designed for normal household pressure. If the property runs a gravity-fed tank system at unusually low pressure, confirm the available head with the plumber before ordering.
Q: What is included in the box?
The spout, the bar shower head, the riser, the hand spray with hose, and the hot and cold mixer diverter. Wall connection fittings are not included because they depend on the pipework of the installation.
Q: Does the matte black coating chip at the edges?
A coating over brass behaves differently from plating over zinc. Where plating blisters and lifts in sheets, a coating on brass wears at high-contact edges and can be touched in locally. That is the practical reason the body is brass rather than a cheaper casting.
