Light is a material. Most people treat it as a utility, something that arrives when a switch is flipped and stops being interesting the moment the room is bright enough to read in. That assumption is why so many interiors feel flat. The Chroma Loom treats illumination as a designed surface, one that can be tuned, coloured, and made to behave like an architectural element rather than an appliance.
The strip is built around genuine Epistar SMD5050 emitters in an RGBCCT configuration, which means full colour plus white and warm white on the same six-pin twelve millimetre PCB. Density is selectable at 60, 96 or 112 LEDs per metre, drawing 24, 36 or 40 watts per metre respectively, and the run will accept either 12V or 24V DC. Beam angle is a wide 140 degrees, which is what allows the strip to wash a wall or a cove evenly instead of producing the scalloped hotspots that cheap tape is known for. Rated service life is 50,000 hours, and the operating window runs from minus 20 to 60 degrees Celsius.
Five metres arrives on a roll with adhesive backing in IP20, and the same emitters are available in IP65 coated or IP67 sleeved variants when the installation has to survive kitchens, bathrooms or exterior soffits. The colour channel and the white channel are independent, so a single run can serve as both the ambient colour wash and the practical task light for the same room.
Colour is not a filter here. It is the source.

Application Scenarios
The Chroma Loom is specified wherever fixed lighting cannot keep up with how a space is actually used. It belongs in architectural cove and ceiling reveals, retail display cases, home cinema and gaming rooms, hospitality back bars, photography and content studios that need a controllable colour temperature, and residential kitchens where the same run has to switch from warm evening light to a bright working white. Because the colour and white channels are independent, one roll can carry both jobs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does RGBCCT mean compared to ordinary RGB?
A: RGBCCT adds dedicated white and warm white emitters alongside the red, green and blue channels. That means the strip can produce true whites at a chosen colour temperature, not the washed-out white you get by mixing RGB together.
Q: Can I cut the strip to length?
A: Yes. The strip is cuttable at the marked intervals on the 12mm PCB, which allows a five metre roll to be divided across several runs in the same installation.
Q: Which variant should I choose for a bathroom or exterior soffit?
A: Use IP65 if the strip will be exposed to splashes or condensation, and IP67 if it will sit in a wet or outdoor location where direct water contact is possible. IP20 is intended for dry interior coves only.
Q: Do I need a specific power supply?
A: You need a constant-voltage DC driver matched to the strip voltage (12V or 24V) with enough rated current for the total wattage of the run. Always size the driver above the calculated load rather than exactly on it.
Q: How much light does each density option produce?
A: Higher LED density concentrates more emitters per metre, which raises both output and smoothness. The 60 LED option draws 24W per metre, the 96 LED option 36W, and the 112 LED option 40W.
Q: How long will the strip last?
A: The rated service life is 50,000 hours, which at four hours of use per day is well over thirty years. Practical life depends on adequate heat dissipation behind the strip.
