A Table Dressed on Purpose Changes the Meal Before the Food Arrives.

Linen has been the table fabric for centuries for reasons that have nothing to do with fashion. The fibre is stronger wet than dry, it breathes, and it softens every time it is washed until the hand feels closer to cloth than to paper. This Easter table runner is woven from 100% linen at 180cm, long enough to run the full length of a dining table and let the ends drop, which is the proportion that makes a table look deliberately set rather than merely covered.

The rabbit motif is woven into the run rather than printed on it, so the design stays crisp through washing and reads at a distance without shouting. Ten design variants mean you can choose a traditional bunny silhouette for a family lunch or something quieter for a spring table that has to work past the holiday. A matching 1-piece placemat variant makes it possible to dress a single setting or extend the look across several, and linen's natural slub is what stops the set looking like a printed polyester imitation.

Use it for Easter, then use it again in April because it simply looks good on a table with bread and a jug of water on it.

Set the table as if the people arriving matter. They do.

Where It Earns Its Place

The primary setting is a holiday dining table, where a runner gives the centrepiece a defined space and hides the seam between two tablecloths. Beyond Easter it works on a sideboard under a bowl or a vase, on a kitchen island as a landing strip for a tray, and as a photographic surface for anyone selling food or craft. Restaurants and cafés use runners precisely because they dress a table in seconds and wash hard, which is the practical test any table linen has to pass.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is this a tablecloth or a runner?

A: It is a runner, 180cm long, designed to run the length of a table rather than cover it edge to edge. Pair it with a plain cloth for a layered setting or use it straight on a wooden top.

Q: Does the motif wash out?

A: No. The rabbit design is woven into the linen rather than printed on the surface, so it stays crisp through repeated washing and normal use.

Q: How do I care for linen properly?

A: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, then air dry and iron while slightly damp. Linen is stronger wet than dry, so it tolerates careful washing well and improves in softness over time.

Q: Will it fit my table?

A: At 180cm it suits a standard dining table for four to six with a drop at each end. For a longer table, layer two runners along the length or use the pattern as a centre strip.

Q: How many designs are available?

A: Ten variants cover the range from traditional rabbit motifs to quieter spring neutrals. There is also a single-placemat option if you want to dress one setting or extend a runner into place settings.

Q: Is it appropriate outside of Easter?

A: Yes. The neutral designs work as year-round table linen, and linen suits spring and summer tables particularly well. It is a seasonal piece that does not have to look seasonal.

Q: Does linen wrinkle badly?

A: It creases, and that is part of its character. If you prefer a crisper look, iron while damp, or embrace the relaxed texture that makes linen read as an actual cloth rather than a synthetic panel.

Still out in May

Bought it for Easter and never put it away. The quieter design works all spring. Using the placemat option for the ends of the table as well.

Lovely, expect linen creasing

It creases, because it is linen. Ironed while damp it looks crisp. I am leaving it relaxed now, which suits the fibre better.

Dressed the table in seconds

180cm runs the length of our table with a drop at each end. Layered over a plain cloth for Easter lunch and it looked like a set rather than a runner.

Real linen at a fair price

You can feel the difference in the slub. It softens every wash and the rabbit pattern is woven in, so it survived the first wash completely intact.
