Description

A commuter scooter is judged on the third month, not the first week. By then the novelty is gone and what remains is whether the stem still locks tight, whether the deck still feels stable at speed and whether the battery still covers the route with charge to spare.

The W7 is built around a 650W motor and a 36V 10.5Ah pack, which is a step up from the 350W class that struggles on the first bridge of the morning. The 8.5-inch tyres keep the deck low enough to step off confidently at a crossing, and dual suspension separates the rider from the paving that city councils have not repaired. Top speed sits at 35 km/h where local law permits it.

Side lighting is the detail that matters after dark. A scooter that is visible from the side is visible at junctions where a driver is looking across the road rather than down it, and the integrated lights draw from the main pack instead of a disposable cell. App control adds a lock, a ride readout and a way to check the pack before you commit to a journey.

Range is stated honestly as 25 to 35 km in mixed riding, with a manufacturer ceiling of 40 to 60 km on a flat route at reduced speed. Charge time is six to eight hours, which suits an overnight routine, and the stem folds for a hallway, a train carriage or the corner of an office.

The route does not change. How much of it you feel afterwards does.

Why This Configuration Works

  • 650W motor — holds speed on gradients where a 350W commuter scooter drops off.
  • 36V 10.5Ah pack — covers a typical city commute with margin for a detour.
  • 8.5-inch tyres — a low deck height for confident stops and a contact patch that handles kerbs.
  • Dual suspension — front and rear travel absorb patched asphalt and paving slabs.
  • Integrated side lights — side visibility at junctions, powered from the main pack.
  • App control — lock, ride readout and battery state from the phone.
  • Folding stem — collapses for a hallway, a lift or a train carriage.

Where it fits

Daily city commuters use the W7 for a route that mixes bike lane, side street and a short stretch of main road, where side lighting and a 650W motor both matter. Students and shift workers use it for journeys that start or end when buses are thin. Anyone stepping up from a 250W or 350W scooter will notice the difference on the first incline and on the first night ride, which are the two conditions budget scooters handle worst.

Questions Buyers Ask Before Ordering

Q: What range should I expect in real use?

A: Plan on 25 to 35 km for mixed city riding with an adult rider. The 40 to 60 km figure is the manufacturer ceiling on a flat route at reduced speed.

Q: How fast is it?

A: The motor is rated to 35 km/h. Restricted modes exist for shared paths, and local law decides what you may use on road.

Q: Is it heavy to carry?

A: It is a commuter machine rather than a last-100-metres device. It folds and rolls, which suits a lift or ground floor storage better than repeated flights of stairs.

Q: Do the lights run off the main battery?

A: Yes. The side lights are wired into the scooter pack, so there is no separate cell to replace.

Q: Does the app work without a connection?

A: Basic readouts are available locally. Lock, ride history and firmware checks need the phone within Bluetooth range.

Q: What maintenance does it need?

A: Check brake adjustment, tyre wear and the stem latch monthly, and keep the pack between roughly 20 and 90 percent for daily use.

Q: Can two people ride it?

A: No. It is a single-rider scooter and the deck and frame are rated accordingly.

Folds small enough for the train

It goes into the luggage rack on the regional service without an argument from the conductor. Suspension handles the paving around the station. Two months in and the stem latch is still tight with no rattle.

Solid build, honest range

I get about 30 km on my route with a bit of hill, which is close to what the listing says. Charge overnight and it is ready. The app lock is handy when I leave it outside a shop. Deck is a little firm after twenty minutes.

The 650W makes the difference

My old 350W scooter struggled on the bridge on my commute and I had to kick. This one holds speed the whole way up. The side lights are bright enough that cars actually see you at junctions, which was not true of the last one.
