Description

Details are the difference between handmade and homemade. The Fringe is a silk-blend tassel trim that turns a plain curtain, a plain pillow, or a plain hem into something that looks considered, finished, and quietly expensive, and it does it in a single pass of a needle.

Tassels carry a long history of signaling quality. From stage curtains to upholstery to ceremonial dress, the small swinging threads have always marked the places where someone took care. Sewing this trim along an edge borrows that language for your own work: a curtain edge that moves with a little more weight, a lampshade that catches the light differently, a costume or craft piece that reads as intentional from across the room.

The trim is easy to work with. Its braided header takes a needle cleanly for hand sewing or feeds straight under a sewing machine foot, and the rope tassels hang with a natural swing that gives fabric movement a soft accent. Sold in a two-piece set, it gives you enough length for a pair of curtains or a generous run along a single statement piece.

Attention is the cheapest luxury there is, and it is sewn on by the inch.

Application Scenarios

The Fringe is the finishing move of a room. A pair of plain linen curtains becomes a statement when the edges carry a tassel line. A throw pillow becomes a piece of furniture styling. Costume makers use it to finish hems and capes, crafters use it to trim bags and lampshades, and photographers use it as a prop that adds texture to a styled shot. It is the kind of material that does not just decorate a project; it tells the viewer that the maker cared about the last inch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I attach the trim to fabric?

A: Hand sew through the braided header with a simple running stitch, or feed the header under a sewing machine foot with a straight or zigzag stitch. The header is designed to take a needle cleanly and hold the tassels securely.

Q: How much trim is included?

A: The set includes two pieces of tassel trim, sized to finish a pair of standard curtains or to run along a generous length of a single project. Measure your project edge before ordering to plan the layout.

Q: Will the tassels shed or fray?

A: The trim is constructed with strong twisted thread and a secure braided header, so the tassels hold their shape and resist fraying in normal use. Gentle handling when sewing keeps the fibers clean and neat.

Q: What projects suit this trim best?

A: Curtain edges, pillow trims, lampshade trims, bag handles, costume hems, and any craft piece that needs a finished edge. It suits bohemian, vintage, and classic decor, and adds a tactile detail to photography props.

Q: Can I machine wash fabric that has this trim attached?

A: Spot cleaning and gentle hand care are recommended to protect the tassel fibers. If the garment or fabric requires machine washing, use a delicate cycle with the item inside a mesh bag, and air dry flat.

Q: Does the trim work on lightweight fabric?

A: Yes. The trim is lightweight enough for sheer and medium fabrics, while still carrying enough visual weight to define an edge. On very light fabrics, use a shorter run or test the drape first.

Q: Can I use this trim on clothing?

A: Yes. The trim sews cleanly onto hems, sleeves, and costume edges. For clothing, secure the ends with a few extra stitches and use a thread color that matches the header so the attachment is invisible.

Q: Does the length suit one curtain panel or two?

A: The two-piece set is sized to trim a pair of standard curtain panels, or to run a generous single edge on one statement piece. For wider curtains, measure the full width and plan the pieces before sewing.

Lovely, mind the fiber

Gorgeous trim with a nice weight to it. Sews easily by hand. I found a few loose fibers on the cut ends, which a dab of clear glue fixed instantly. Overall very happy.

Beautiful quality trim

The thread is soft but strong, and the tassels are uniform and neat. I have used half on a lampshade and half on throw pillows. Everyone asks where the pillows are from.

Finished my curtain project

Sewed this trim along the bottom of two linen curtains and they went from plain to boutique. The tassels hang with a lovely swing and the braided header sewed cleanly under my machine. Looks expensive.
