Description

A balcony has floor area and almost no usable wall. A windowsill has light and no depth. The usual answer is to buy fewer plants, which is not an answer anyone accepts. The Bloom Tower answers it by growing upward, converting about a square metre of floor into six, seven or eight tiers of usable growing space.

The frame is iron with a powder coated finish in black or white, built to hold eight or nine pots at a time across the tier heights. Each shelf is removable, which matters more than it sounds: a tall plant goes on the lowest tier with the shelf above it taken out, and a row of small pots goes on an upper shelf at eye level where they can be reached without bending.

Assembly takes minutes rather than an afternoon. The structure is stable enough for a corner with uneven light, and narrow enough to sit against a wall without blocking a door or a window. In an apartment with a single bright window, that geometry is the entire difference between a collection of plants and a plant collection.

A balcony is not too small for the plants. It is only too flat.

Where It Belongs

Balcony growers in apartments use the 7 tier unit against a wall that faces north, where floor space is consumed by a table and there is nowhere else for the plants to go. Smaller households use the 6 tier version in a living room as a display frame for a mixed collection. Florists and plant shops use them for stock rotation, keeping the pots that need water on the lowest shelf and the display specimens at eye level.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will it fit on a small balcony?

Yes. The design is deliberately narrow so it can sit against a wall or railing without taking walking space. Check the height against any window that needs to open.

Q: Can I move the shelves?

Yes. Each shelf is removable, so you can create a tall gap for a larger plant and keep the remaining shelves in place.

Q: Is assembly difficult?

No. It assembles in minutes with basic tools and can be taken apart again if you move.

Q: How much weight can each shelf hold?

It is built for standard potted plants. Spread heavier pots across lower tiers and avoid concentrating weight on one upper shelf.

Q: Black or white?

White suits bright rooms and pale walls, while black reads better against glass, brick and outdoor finishes.

Q: Can it be used outdoors?

It is powder coated for outdoor use on a covered balcony. Bring it in or cover it if the climate is very wet or freezing.

Q: Are the pots and plants included?

No. The price covers the stand only. Pots, plants and decorative items shown in the photographs are staging props and are not part of the order.

Q: Can two units stand side by side?

Yes. Place them next to each other rather than interlocking them, and keep both against a wall or rail so neither can be knocked sideways when a pot is lifted off.

Q: Can the tiers hold things other than plants?

Yes. The same spacing works for books, storage baskets, decorative objects or retail display, and the removable shelves let you set the gap to whatever you are displaying.

Handles a full set of orchids

Bought it for orchids and succulents. Powder coating has not chipped despite being knocked while moving it.

Consider the pot sizes first

The shelves hold small and medium pots happily. A large planter has to go on a lower tier for balance, which is fine once you plan the arrangement.

Sturdy and light to move

Solid iron rather than thin tubing. I move it indoors in winter without any flex. The removable shelves were the deciding feature.

Cleared the balcony floor

Eight tiers holds the pots that were previously spread across every windowsill. Stability is good once it is against the wall and evenly loaded.
