Some light fills a room. This light changes its temperature. A plain pendant spreads brightness evenly and leaves the walls exactly as they were. Stained glass does something else: it filters, fractures and colours, so the room gains a second palette after dark. That is why the Tiffany tradition survived a century of design fashion. It is not a lamp you switch on. It is a piece of daylight you install.
Each shade is assembled from cut glass pieces joined with copper foil and solder, a technique that has changed remarkably little since the 1890s. The framework is iron, the glass is hand-knitted into the leading, and the resulting shade throws a patterned pool of light downward while glowing from within. Because the glass carries colour rather than a coating, the effect does not fade or peel. Six palette options cover the traditional range, from deep red and auburn to amber, blue, yellow and clear white.
Sizing decides the room. A 15 cm shade is a bedside or hallway accent, 20 cm suits a kitchen island or a reading corner, 30 cm carries a dining table, and 40 cm becomes the anchor of a stairwell or a double-height space. All sizes run on a standard E27 base with a 90-260V input, so the fitting is compatible with both 110V and 220V regions and with any E27 LED bulb. The cord pendant installation allows the drop to be set to the room, which matters more than the shade diameter in low ceilings.

What defines the piece

Where it belongs
The natural habitat is a room with wood in it: a dining table, a library wall, a stairwell with a handrail. Hospitality projects use the 20 cm and 30 cm sizes in rows above a bar or along a corridor, where the repetition of coloured glass does more for atmosphere than a single large fixture. In a flat with white walls the lamp becomes the room's one warm object, which is often the entire point. Pair it with a 2700K bulb for the traditional amber read, or a 3000K bulb if the surrounding scheme is cooler. Avoid bathrooms and covered outdoor areas; stained glass and sustained humidity are not a good long-term arrangement.

Q. Is the glass real stained glass?
Yes. The shade is assembled from cut coloured glass joined with copper foil and solder, in the same technique used for traditional Tiffany shades. It is not printed or filmed glass.
Q. Which size for a dining table?
A 30 cm shade over a table of 1.4 to 1.8 metres reads correctly. A 20 cm version works over a two-seat breakfast table or a kitchen island end.

Q. Does the shade arrive assembled?
The shade is assembled; installation involves mounting the canopy, setting the cord drop and fitting the bulb. Because glass is involved, handle the shade by the iron frame rather than by the panels.
Q. How do I clean it?
Dust with a soft dry cloth or a vacuum brush on low suction. Never use water or glass spray on the assembled shade, as moisture can reach the foil seams.
From our workshop network. Shades are packed in moulded foam with the frame supported, because a Tiffany panel that survives the workshop rarely survives a careless carton. If a panel arrives damaged, send photographs of the packing and the shade and we will replace it rather than debate it.
