Description

Waiting for hot water is a small tax paid several times a day, in every house, forever. The pipe runs cold, the tap runs, the kettle becomes the workaround, and the workaround becomes the habit. The Instant Spring removes the pipe from the equation entirely, because the heating element sits inside the tap and the water is already hot when it arrives.

A 3,300 watt stainless steel heating tube inside the body raises water within seconds, fed from a 220 to 240 volt 50 hertz supply drawing 13.6 amperes. Operating pressure runs from 0.4 to 5 bar, which covers mains supply in most apartments and gravity systems that still hold pressure. Safety is handled by isolated heating technology rather than insulation alone: the element is separated from the water path, with electrostatic protection, high temperature resistance and an IPX4 rating around the housing. A digital display shows the current temperature, the spout swivels through 360 degrees to reach both sink bowls, and a 1.4 metre power cord reaches the nearest outlet.

Installation takes a screwdriver rather than a plumber. The faucet mounts on the deck, takes a lower water inlet, and replaces the existing tap in a single position, which makes it suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, garages, workshops and utility rooms where a storage water heater never made commercial sense. Temperature is set at the tap, so there is no tank kept permanently warm and no standby loss between the seven or eight times a day it is used.

The hot water was always two metres away. It simply had to travel through a cold pipe to get there.

Where It Belongs

The Instant Spring is built for the positions where a storage heater is impractical and a kettle is the current answer: a utility room sink used for rinsing and filling, a workshop where hands are washed between tasks, a garage with a basin and no hot feed, a bathroom basin far from the cylinder, and a kitchen where the main tap takes a minute to run warm. It also suits granny flats, converted outbuildings and rented commercial units where a hot water circuit would require a boiler upgrade.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does it work on a 110V supply?

No. This is a 220 to 240 volt, 50 hertz appliance drawing 13.6 amperes, intended for the European, British, Middle Eastern, South American and Asian mains standards. It must not be connected to a 110 volt North American supply.

Q: How quickly does the water get hot?

The heating tube is inside the body of the tap, so the water is heated in the seconds it takes to pass through it rather than after a pipe run has cleared. There is no tank to reach temperature and no waiting period after the tap is opened.

Q: What happens if the water pressure is too low?

A minimum of 0.4 bar is required for correct operation. Below that, the unit will not stabilise the outlet temperature, which is the reason the pressure range is specified rather than assumed.

Q: Can I install it myself?

Yes. The faucet replaces an existing deck-mounted tap, needs a lower water inlet connection and a nearby socket, and ships with installation instructions. No plumber is required for a standard replacement.

Q: Is it safe to use bare hands on the water?

The heating element is isolated from the water path, the housing carries an IPX4 water resistance rating, and the unit includes electrostatic and high temperature protection. The digital display shows the current temperature before the spout is used.

Q: Does the spout reach both bowls of a double sink?

Yes. The spout rotates through 360 degrees, so it can be swung between the two bowls of a double sink or turned aside when the sink is being cleaned.

Check your pressure first

Works exactly as described once I checked my supply pressure, which was just above the minimum. If your supply is weak this is the one thing to verify before ordering, otherwise the temperature holds well.

Perfect for a workshop basin

Bought it for a garage sink and it has been running for months. The brushed silver finish has not marked, the swivel spout means I can move it out of the way, and there is no tank sitting there losing heat all day.

Replaced a kettle and a boiler feed

Fitted in a utility room that never had hot water. It is hot in about three seconds and the temperature display means I stopped scalding my hands. Installed it myself in under an hour with a spanner.
