Description

Crocodile embossing is a texture that has to be earned by the pattern, not announced by it. Done badly it reads as plastic luggage. Done as it is here, with the scale tight enough to catch light in small facets rather than large slabs, it reads as animal. The jacket is cropped, cut loose through the body, and closed with an asymmetrical wrap front that never lines up the way a zip does, which is the point: the asymmetry is what stops a leather jacket from looking like the fourth one on the same street.

The sleeve is the other decision worth naming. Instead of a tapered arm, this uses a wide flare that opens from the elbow, so the cuff falls over the hand and the silhouette widens at the wrist rather than narrowing. That single change alters the proportion of everything worn beneath it, because the eye reads the widest point as the hem. Worn over a slip dress the flare reads soft. Worn over a hooded sweatshirt it reads deliberately oversized.

The material is PU leather with a crocodile emboss, which buys two things real hide cannot at this price: consistent scale across every panel, and a surface that wipes clean instead of absorbing rain. The stand collar sits high enough to frame the jaw and stays up without a fastening, and the interior is lined so the material never touches skin directly. Cropped length stops at the waist, which keeps the proportion sharp over wide leg trousers and stops the jacket from fighting a midi skirt.

Colour is where the range does its work. Dark green and wine red are the two that photograph as depth rather than as brightness, brown reads as traditional animal, and white and black carry the widest styling range. The cut is deliberately loose, so the size that fits your shoulders is usually the size that fits, with room left for a knit beneath. Treat it as outerwear for autumn and mild winter, not as a coat substitute in freezing weather.

Texture does the talking. Cut decides whether anyone listens.

Where it belongs

This is the layer that makes a plain outfit legible. Over a black slip dress with boots it reads evening. Over a white tee and wide leg trousers it reads as the one textured element in an otherwise flat column. Over a hooded sweatshirt it becomes streetwear, because the cropped length and flare sleeve do the work that a boxy jacket cannot. It suits a night out better than a commute, since PU leather does not breathe the way hide does. It also photographs unusually well indoors, because the emboss breaks up flash instead of reflecting it in one sheet.

Questions buyers actually ask

Q: Is it genuine leather?

No. It is PU leather with a crocodile emboss. At this price the honest answer is a coated synthetic, and the trade is deliberate: consistent scale across every panel, and a surface that wipes clean rather than absorbing water.

Q: How does the sizing run?

Loose and generous. Most buyers take their usual size and still have room for a thin knit underneath. If you want a close fit, size down; if you plan to layer a hoodie, keep your usual size.

Q: Does the emboss crack?

The emboss is pressed into the coating rather than applied on top, so it does not flake. What ages a PU jacket is repeated folding at the elbow and storage on a wire hanger, so hang it wide and avoid compressing it in a full wardrobe.

Q: How do I clean it?

Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap, then dry away from direct heat. Never machine wash, never tumble dry, and keep it away from alcohol based cleaners, which strip the coating's finish.

Q: Is it warm enough for winter?

For autumn and mild winter, yes, over a knit. It is a cropped fashion layer rather than an insulated coat, and it will not hold heat in freezing wind the way a padded jacket does.

Q: Will the white show marks?

White PU shows scuffs more than the darker colourways, though it wipes clean more easily than fabric. If you want the lowest maintenance option, the dark green, wine red and black carry wear far better.

Sized down for a closer fit

Loose as described, so I took one size down and it sits properly on the shoulder. Cropped length is right at the waist. Not a winter coat, I would not wear it below about five degrees.

Croc emboss looks like animal

The scale is tight enough to catch light in small facets, so it does not read as plastic. Wine red is deeper in person than on screen. Stand collar stays up without any fastening, which is rare at this price.

The flare sleeve is the whole jacket

Wide sleeves that open at the elbow change the proportion of everything underneath. Wore it over a long slip dress and it read as tailored rather than oversized. The wrap front never lines up the same way twice, which I like.
