A Watch Measures Time. A Bastion Measures Reliability.

Most smartwatches are designed for the climate-controlled environments of offices and coffee shops. They track steps through climate-controlled corridors and measure heart rate during yoga sessions in air-conditioned studios. The Bastion was designed for the other 99% of the planet — the construction site in 40 degree Celsius heat, the infantry training ground at dawn, the open-water swim at 6am in November. Built to MIL-STD-810H standards for shock, vibration, and temperature extremes, and sealed to 3ATM (30 meters) of water resistance, this is a smartwatch that treats durability not as a marketing bullet point but as the foundational design constraint.

The 1.43-inch AMOLED display is protected by tempered glass with an oleophobic coating that sheds water, sweat, and fingerprint smudges. Beneath it, an optical heart rate sensor paired with a SpO2 monitor delivers continuous health tracking — not the approximate "wellness" metrics of a budget fitness band, but medical-grade PPG photoplethysmography that samples at 100Hz for actionable data. NFC chip integration enables contactless payments and access-card emulation for secure facility entry. The 380mAh battery delivers 5-7 days of normal use or 14 days in power-saver mode — because the soldier who needs to charge his watch every night is a soldier with one more logistical vulnerability.

Multiple sport modes (running, cycling, swimming, hiking, climbing) pair with GPS route tracking to turn every workout into a mapped data set. And when the workout ends, the stainless steel bezel and interchangeable silicone strap mean it transitions cleanly from field to dinner without looking like a piece of tactical gear.

Your environment should never determine whether your technology works. It should only determine which features you need next.

Who It's For

The Bastion is purpose-built for three profiles that rarely overlap in consumer electronics but share a common requirement — technology that does not break. First: the tactical professional — military, law enforcement, security contracting — who needs MIL-STD certification because their gear gets dropped, submerged, baked in vehicle footwells, and still has to work when called. Second: the outdoor athlete — the ultrarunner, the open-water swimmer, the mountaineer — whose watch faces environments that would destroy a mainstream smartwatch within the first hour. Third: the industrial worker — the oil rig technician, the construction foreman, the mining engineer — who needs contactless NFC for facility access, health monitoring in high-stress environments, and a battery that survives a 12-hour shift without a recharge. The Bastion serves all three without asking anyone to compromise on features, style, or resilience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I wear it while swimming in the ocean?

A: Yes, 3ATM (30m) water resistance covers swimming and surface water activities including ocean swimming. After saltwater exposure, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry thoroughly before charging to prevent corrosion on the magnetic charging contacts.

Q: Does the NFC work for Google Pay or Apple Pay?

A: The NFC chip supports standard contactless payment protocols. Compatibility with specific payment platforms depends on your region and the companion app version. Access-card emulation for HID and MIFARE-classic systems is supported natively.

Q: How accurate is the SpO2 sensor?

A: The optical SpO2 sensor uses the same PPG photoplethysmography principle as medical-grade pulse oximeters and is accurate to within ±2% under normal conditions (stationary wrist, proper fit). For clinical-grade readings, a fingertip oximeter remains the gold standard.

Q: Can I change the strap to a NATO or leather band?

A: Yes, the watch uses standard 22mm quick-release spring bars. Any 22mm strap — NATO, leather, metal link bracelet, or aftermarket silicone — will fit without tools.

Q: Does the always-on display drain the battery significantly?

A: With AOD enabled, expect 3-4 days of battery life instead of 5-7. The AMOLED panel selectively illuminates only active pixels in AOD mode, keeping power draw to approximately 15-20% above normal operation.

Q: Is it compatible with Strava or other fitness platforms?

A: Yes, the companion app supports data export and sync with Strava, Google Fit, and Apple Health. GPS-tracked activities including route maps, pace, elevation gain, and heart rate zones are all exportable.

Finally a smartwatch that lasts a week

Came from an Apple Watch that needed daily charging. The Bastion lasts 6 days on a charge with heart rate monitoring enabled. The AMOLED screen is gorgeous — blacks are true black, not the greyish 'almost-off' you get on LCD watches. The military aesthetic is understated enough that I wear it to the office with a leather strap I swapped in. 22mm standard lugs make strap changes trivial.

Solid outdoor watch, NFC is a nice bonus

Bought this primarily for hiking and open-water swimming. GPS tracking is accurate within about 5 meters compared to my Garmin, and the swim tracking auto-detects stroke type reasonably well. The NFC payment feature worked at my office cafeteria first try. Display is bright enough in direct sun. The SpO2 readings during a recent high-altitude hike matched my standalone pulse oximeter within 1%.

Military-grade is not just marketing

I work construction and I've destroyed three smartwatches in the past two years — shattered screens, water damage, dead batteries. The Bastion has survived a 12-foot drop onto concrete (bounced, scuffed the bezel, screen intact), a day of rain, and being whacked against rebar. The MIL-STD certification isn't marketing fluff. Battery life at 5 days with always-on display off is exactly as advertised.
